KU Edwards Campus Scholarship

Policy
Purpose:

This policy describes the eligibility requirements for the Edwards Campus Scholarship.

Applies to:

Prospective/New KU Edwards Campus students.

Campus:
Edwards
Policy Statement:

The Edwards Campus Scholarship is a one-time award evenly distributed over two semesters (fall/spring or spring/fall sequence). Preference will be given to students with financial need.

Prospective students who have applied for admission to an Edwards Campus undergraduate or graduate academic degree program (certificates are not eligible) and submitted their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Institutional Student Need Analysis Worksheet (ISNAW) by the following deadlines will be automatically reviewed for eligibility to receive the Edwards Campus Scholarship:

  • Summer and fall admits must apply for admission by May 1 and submit their FAFSA or ISNAW by June 1.
  • Spring admits must apply for admission by November 1 and submit their FAFSA or ISNAW by December 1.

Students may receive either the Edwards Campus Scholarship or the Johnson County Education Research Triangle (JCERT) Scholarship—these two scholarships cannot be combined.

Edwards Campus Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

  • Admitted to an Edwards Campus undergraduate or graduate academic degree program (would qualify if admitted as a pre-major).
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Submit FAFSA or ISNAW by deadlines stated above.
  • Undergraduate students must enroll in at least six credit hours of Edwards Campus coursework each awarded semester.
  • Graduate students must enroll in at least three credit hours of Edwards Campus coursework each awarded semester.
Exclusions or Special Circumstances:
  • Edwards Campus certificate programs are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Students who leave their Edwards Campus degree program for one or more semesters and then return to the same Edwards Campus degree program are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Students who were previously enrolled in an Edwards Campus undergraduate or graduate degree program and are admitted to a different Edwards Campus degree program are again eligible for the scholarship (if they meet all other eligibility requirements).
