Late Fees Protection for International Students
International student scholarships require additional processing time due to the required Tax Treaty Analysis. In some cases, students may not have sufficient time to complete the paperwork prior to the bill due date or the analysis may be delayed due to peak processing times in Student Accounts and Receivables or Financial Aid and Scholarships. When one of these cases is identified, Student Accounts and Receivables and FAS will ensure that the impacted students are protected from late fees. Bills are due on the 15th of each month. The first due date of each term is as follows: Fall –September 15; Spring - February 15; Summer – June 15.
KU International students
At the beginning of each term, Financial Aid and Scholarships will review which scholarships for international students have not been posted in the student administration system. If the unposted scholarship is enough to cover the amount due (after any other payments or financial assistance has applied) the student will be protected from late fees. If the unposted scholarship is not enough to cover the remaining amount due, the student will not be protected from the late fee. Student Accounts and Receivables will be notified of those students who should be protected from a late fee.
