KU Edwards Miller Family Scholarship
This policy describes the eligibility requirements for the Miller Family Scholarship.
Prospective/New KU Edwards Campus students.
This fund, created by Doug and Susan Miller, shall be used to provide renewable, merit-based scholarships for undergraduate or graduate students admitted to an academic program with the School of Business or School of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Kansas Edwards Campus.
Prospective/new undergraduate or graduate students admitted to the School of Business or School of Education and Human Sciences at the Edwards Campus will be eligible to apply for the Miller Family Scholarship. Scholarships are not applicable to summer semester courses.
Miller Family Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:
- Summer and fall starters must submit the online Miller Scholarship application posted in the Financial Aid & Scholarships section of the Edwards Campus website by June 1. For spring semester starters, the deadline to submit the application is December 1.
- Undergraduate students must enroll in at least six credit hours of coursework with the School of Business or School of Education and Human Sciences at the Edwards Campus each awarded semester.
- Graduate students must enroll in at least three credit hours of coursework with the School of Business or School of Education and Human Sciences at the Edwards Campus each awarded semester.
- Selection criteria will be determined by the strength of student’s application, comprised of essay questions and their GPA.
- Scholarships awarded will be based on funding availability.
Miller Family Scholarship Eligibility Requirements for Renewal:
- Undergraduate students will meet the yearly renewal criteria if they complete twelve credit hours per academic year (fall, spring) of Edwards Campus coursework and remain in good academic standing with the University.
- Graduate students will meet the yearly renewal criteria if they complete six credit hours per academic year (fall, spring) of Edwards Campus coursework and remain in good academic standing with the graduate school.
- Renewable scholarships will be based on funding availability.
Students who were previously enrolled in an Edwards Campus program and are admitted to a different Edwards Campus program are again eligible for the scholarship (if they meet all other eligibility requirements).

Prospective/New Student: Anyone who is applying for admission to a specific Edwards Campus undergraduate or graduate academic program for the first time.
10/18/22: Reduced undergraduate enrollment requirement from nine credit hours to six credit hours each awarded semester. Reduced graduate enrollment requirement from six credit hours to three credit hours each awarded semester. Removed the minimum 3.5 GPA and replaced with "remain in good academic standing." Removed certificate programs from eligibility. Updated contact information.
03/31/2022: Updated "School of Education" to "School of Education and Human Sciences." Changed eligibility from "students who have applied for admission by February 1" to "students admitted." Changed eligibility to allow students to apply for the Miller Family Scholarship even if they have already been awarded an Edwards Campus Scholarship or a Johnson County Research Triangle (JCERT) Scholarship. Changed the policy of mailing an application to eligible students, to requiring students to apply for the scholarship by either June 1 or December 1, depending on which semester they are starting their coursework at KU Edwards Campus.
