School of Professional Studies, Concurrent Application of Courses to Majors and Minors
Establishes policy regarding how required courses in a Major may also be applied towards the satisfaction of requirements for a Minor within the School of Professional Studies.
Students enrolled in School of Professional Studies programs.
- When there is overlap in course requirements between the major discipline requirements and the minor requirements, no more than six credit hours can count towards both specific course requirements for the major and the minor.
- The remaining courses required for the minor must fulfill general elective requirements for the major or be additional courses taken above the minimum requirements for the degree.
If there are more than two specific courses required in both the major and minor, a petition will need to be generated to substitute an alternate course(s) for any additional required course(s) in the minor as a maximum of two specific required courses (6 credit hours) can count towards both the major and minor.
