To describe the limitations on the kinds of appointments that can be made after the terminal year of a faculty appointment.
Faculty who were not granted tenure during the mandatory review year at the University of Kansas or who receive a notice of non-reappointment for other reasons
Appointments after the terminal year are not to be made at the faculty ranks of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor/Librarian or at the unclassified academic staff ranks of Specialist, Scientist, Curator, Research Professor, or Clinical Professor. This prohibition also applies to less than full-time appointments at these ranks and to appointments at such ranks carrying visiting, ad hoc, or adjunct designations. Any other paid or unpaid appointment of an individual was not granted tenure during the mandatory review year or who has received a notice of non-reappointment for other reasons must be approved through the Provost's Office.
